White Sox's Zach Remillard: Back in big leagues
The White Sox selected Remillard's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. He'll take over the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster spots vacated by Robbie Grossman, who was traded to the Rangers on Wednesday. Remillard, 30, has slashed .250/.292/.316 over 165 plate appearances during the last two seasons with the White Sox. He will operate in a utility role and could get some starts versus southpaws.... White Sox's Zach Remillard: Optioned to Triple-A
Remillard was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox on Monday. Remillard was up with the big club for just a few days and picked up one hit in five at-bats. He'll go back to filling a utility role at Charlotte.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Zach Remillard: Back in majors
The White Sox selected Remillard's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday. The club had Oscar Colas up for one game, but it will now replace him with Remillard, who offers more defensive versatility. Remillard posted a .615 OPS in 54 games for the White Sox last season before being removed from their 40-man roster over the offseason.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Zach Remillard: Outrighted to Triple-A
Remillard cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. He is no longer on the 40-man roster but will remain in the organization. Remillard, who turns 30 next month, slashed .252/.295/.320 over 54 games for the White Sox in 2023 while seeing time at five different positions.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Zach Remillard: Not in lineup
Remillard is out of the lineup Saturday against the Twins. He spent about a month as the White Sox's top option at second base, but Elvis Andrus seems to have reclaimed that role, starting four consecutive games at the keystone. Remillard started at third base Thursday and in right field Friday, so he still has multiple paths to playing time in a utility role, but he'll step out of the lineup Saturday.... See More ... White Sox's Zach Remillard: Drives in three
Remillard went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and three RBI on Friday against the Cardinals. Remillard has started nine consecutive games, though Friday marked the first time he played in right field. He get the nod over Oscar Colas with a lefty on the mound, so the White Sox appear to be prioritizing Remillard getting consistent run. He's performed well with the opportunity, maintaining a .393 average with eight RBI and three runs scored since taking over an everyday role.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Zach Remillard: Jumps to leadoff spot
Remillard is starting at second base and batting leadoff Thursday against the Angels. It's his second straight start at second base and his first appearance atop the White Sox lineup. The 29-year-old boasts a .385/.407/.423 batting line through his first 28 major-league plate appearances and could continue to steal playing time from the struggling Elvis Andrus, though Remillard's lackluster minor-league numbers suggest that he is eventually going to run into serious regression.... White Sox's Zach Remillard: Productive in win
Remillard went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 11-5 win over the Angels. Remillard's playing time dried up once Tim Anderson got back into the lineup. This was Remillard's third multi-hit effort in 10 contests, and he's now 10-for-26 (.385). The utility man also has two steals on three attempts, four RBI and three runs scored. Regular playing time is likely to remain hard to come by, so it's unlikely the 29-year-old will garner much interest in fantasy.... See More ... See Less

Scott Merkin@scottmerkin1H agoCubs are 29-31 overall, 7.5 games out of first, and 5-14 in their last 19. White Sox are 15-45 overall, 24.5 games out of first, and 1-15 in their last 16. They meet Tuesday and Wednesday at Wrigley Field. But throw out the records when these two Crosstown rivals meet.

Scott Merkin@scottmerkin1H ago"Hoo-rah shit" ranks as one of the greatest quotes I've heard in 22 years covering the White Sox. Tommy Pham is an infinitely interesting guy to watch play and talk with, just in the short time he's been with the team, and an intense competitor.
-
Scott Merkin@scottmerkin2H agoPham is also a guy I see talking with players after games about what transpired, younger players picking his brain. He told me he did the same with Matt Holliday when he was a younger player, so it's good to see the same with the White Sox. A great plus for a young team.

James Fegan@JRFegan3H agoWhite Sox lose to the Brewers, 6-3 The top five of their opening day batting order were all hurt, their top two relievers were unavailable, and their rookie starting pitcher gave up a four-spot in the second. And still, mistakes in the eighth were the difference. Sox are 15-45.
