Korchinski recorded a power-play assist in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Kings. Korchinski set up a Tyler Johnson tally in the third period. The 19-year-old Korchinski faced an uphill battle to make an impact this season, but he was able to stick in the NHL all year. He posted 15 points, 93 shots on net, 82 blocked shots and a minus-39 rating over 76 appearances -- while not great numbers, they make sense in the context of playing for one of the worst teams in the league. Korchinski's got a bright future ahead as a two-way defenseman who could be a staple of the Blackhawks' top four for years to come.... See More ... See Less

Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Nets goal in loss
Korchinski scored a goal on three shots and went minus-4 in Tuesday's 6-2 loss to the Kings. Korchinski's third-period tally did little to change the result. It was about the only bright spot for the 19-year-old defenseman in a game that showed how much room he has to grow to keep pace with the NHL. He's scored in consecutive games and has 14 points through 64 appearances, but that comes with an ugly minus-38 rating, 84 shots on net and 67 blocked shots.... See More ... See Less -
Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Supplies power-play assist
Korchinski logged a power-play assist and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Coyotes. Korchinski snapped a nine-game drought with the helper on Jason Dickinson's tally in the second period. While Korchinski is lacking on offense -- 11 points (six on the power play) and 73 shots on net over 57 outings -- he remains in a top-four role as a rookie. He's added 62 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a minus-27 rating this season.... See More ... See Less -

Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Could play versus Canadiens
Korchinski (personal) could return to the lineup Friday versus Montreal, per Scott Powers of The Athletic. Korchinski has missed the last six games due to the untimely passing of his father. Korchinski has been practicing this week and coach Luke Richardson said that he will check with his rookie defenseman to see if he is ready to go prior to Friday's contest. Korchinski, who was selected seventh overall in the 2022 Draft, has two goals, five assists, 28 shots on goal and 30 blocked shots in 25 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Blackhawks' Kevin Korchinski: Back with team, won't play Tuesday
Korchinski (personal) won't play Tuesday against Colorado despite taking part in the morning skate, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports. Korchinski had been away from the team for the past five contests after the passing of his father, Larry. He's still currently on the non-roster list, but it appears as though he could be back in the lineup soon.
